Replace Lost Moisture

The summer sun can easily dry your hair out, which damages it and causes it to become frizzy. To fix this, try and use a rejuvenating and hydrating hair mask to replace the lost moisture. Some great examples of hair masks include ones with argan, coconut, or olive oil.

Take Care of the Colour

If left untreated, the sun and seawater can actually lift the natural pigments within the hair itself, meaning that the colour of the hair starts to fade. In general, it mainly affects blonde hair, as the sun can cause a brassy colour.

To counteract this, purple shampoos are great for getting rid of brassy tones. If you wanted to go for a more natural remedy, then herbs such as chamomile are great for reducing brassiness in blonde hair.

Detangle Your Hair Carefully

When hair gets dry and frizzy, it can get tangled very easily, meaning knots can occur, and can be incredibly difficult to comb out. The worst thing to do, in this scenario, is comb out tangles harshly, as it can actually cause your hair to break and become frayed.

To make sure that the hair doesn’t break, using a wide-toothed comb is the good solution; start by combing at the ends and then working up to the roots. You can complement this with a product that adds moisture and protects your hair.

Trim Any Split Ends

Split ends can be caused by a multitude of issues, but the most common causes of split ends are due to heat, excess heat treatments, and styling, and combing. They can be irritating to the hair and it can make it look unhealthy and frizzy.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a remedy for split ends as it is the structure of the hair itself deteriorating, so the best way to fix split ends it to trim them off. Once this has been done, you will have healthy ends of your hair, but make sure to trim the ends of your hair every 6 to 8 weeks.
