Weddings are supposed to be a happy and exciting occasion. In fact, if you’re the groom, then it’s supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life. However, for men suffering from hair loss, the thought of being the centre of attention can often leave them wishing the day would never come.
As a company who specialises in hair replacement in Glasgow, we understand that hair loss in men can be a real blow to your confidence. However, it doesn’t have to be something you have to put up with.
We have put together a short guide to what hair loss in men is, and how you can deal with it. Don’t let hair loss ruin your wedding, give our guide a read.
Male Pattern Baldness
What is it?
Male Pattern Baldness is the most common type of hair loss in men, and will happen to most men at some stage in their life. Whilst it often takes around 15 years to go fully bald, some men will experience this in less than 5 years. This is when it can often be upsetting and embarrassing for them.
Men will first notice the hair beginning to thin at the sides and at the top of their head – this is often referred to as receding. They might gradually begin to notice a bald patch appearing in the middle of the scalp, which will later join with the receding sides and cause one bigger bald spot.
Who gets it?
Almost all men will suffer with hair loss by the time they reach the age of 50. However, it can happen a lot younger. It’s estimated that 3 in 10 men will suffer with hair loss by the time they reach the age of 30.
Why does it happen?
Hair follicles on the scalp begin to shrink, and each new hair that grows back becomes thinner and thinner. It also falls out quicker than the average three years, until it eventually stops growing at all. It’s said that male hormones are to blame, and it’s also considered as being genetic.
You can now stop fretting about being embarrassed on your wedding day, because KSL offer a number of solutions that can help you find your confidence again. These include:
This is a process that involves harvesting hair from other parts of the body and then placing this hair on your scalp. Each root is taken out individually, and then put onto all hairless parts of the head. It’s a process that is done follicle by follicle and doesn’t leave any scars!
Because it’s not a surgical operation, there is no down time between transplants. It can also be done all in one day, so there is no need to keep making appointments.
Keep checking back on our KSL Blog, as we will be carrying on this series and looking at even more hair loss solutions that can restore your confidence and make you wedding confident.
